Today, more than 1600,000 SCHMIDT Tension Meters are used worldwide.
Wherever precision and superior quality are essential in production and processing, SCHMIDT Tension Meters are indispensable in production monitoring, quality control, automation and process engineering. SCHMIDT is celebrating this year the 70 anniversary.
SCHMIDT offers the worldwide largest selection of Tension Meters: The product range includes both hand-held models and online Tension Meters, each available as mechanical and electronic versions. Continuously the existing product lines are updated to meet the customers demands. e.g. new version of hand held tension meter series DT with tension range up to 60 daN with special guide rollers for cables and wires with bigger diameter.
Hand held Tension meter series DT)
The instrument is equipped with a large easy to read display which rotes automatically in 90° steps to have the best view. 3 different display modes are available to show real time readings, alarms, graph (Time-tension). To get highest accuracy the material diameter can be set and shown in the display using a wheel at the end of the housing.
The instrument is calibrated on Schmidt materials, however the user can now make calibrations on their own materials and can also define the names of these materials in the display.
The “professional” series DTX is equipped with a memory of 60.000 readings. 4 Different internal programs for data collections are available. All memory data can be downloaded to a PC. On the other side the tension meter can be also used direct data monitoring on a PC using the USB connection or the Wi-Fi modul for wireless communication.
The DT Tension meters are available with different roller designs.
The DT tension meter is using the latest technic to support the users as much as possible. The “professional” series DTX is equipped with a memory of 60.000 readings. All memory data can be downloaded to a PC. On the other side the tension meter can be also used direct data monitoring on a PC using the USB connection or the Wi-Fi modul for wireless communication.
The DT tension meters are available with different roller designs and can be used to measure tensions up to 60 daN.
The series FS is available with new features to meet the demands for digital signal processing and Wi-Fi data communication.. The advantage of digital signal processing is the easy installation of the connecting cables, the independence to electronic noise and the direct connection to computers in order to control or storage data in the production process. For installations in rotating positions, the sensor can be equipped with a position sensor, which will compensate the gravity forces.
Panel Mount Display for Schmidt Tension Sensors Series SC-PM
The new SC-PM4 display can display up to 4 tension Sensors. There are 2 display modes available: real time readings with alarm control or bar graph with readings to see trends.
To achieve highest accuracy 4 different materials can be calibrated and stored for each channel. If the tension fluctuates to much and it is difficult to read the values a electronic damping can be activated. As outputs 0-10V, USB and RS422 can be used.

DT tension meter with three display modes
One of the new products of Hans Schmidt & Co. GmbH stand is the DT tension meter. The device is equipped with a large display that automatically rotates in 90 ° increments to always have the best view. Three different display modes are available to display real-time measurements, min-max alarms, graphics (time-tension) on the display. The device is equipped with a new, force-reduced material catching system. For maximum accuracy, the material diameter can be adjusted and displayed on the display with a wheel at the end of the housing.
The device is calibrated on Schmidt materials. The user can now calibrate their own materials and also enter the names of these materials in the display.
To catch PEAKS of tension the the internal sampling rate is 8 kHz.
The "professional" series DTX is equipped with a memory of 60,000 readings. Four different internal programs for data collections are available. All memory data can be viewed and stored on a PC. Wire tension of up to 60 daN can be measured with the DT Tension Meter.
